The teenage years can be a tough period of transition and turmoil, and unfortunately, there are no instruction manuals for life. So we've created the next best thing. Our teen training modules are printable stories, articles, and educational printouts that you can give to your teen. In these pieces of literature, we aim to give your child the information needed to withstand the turmoil they'll inevitably face, and to help them make better choices throughout all aspects of their life. We add new modules periodically, so be sure to check back to find out what's new!
Some of these printable articles may cover topics of a sensitive nature to parents and families. As such, it is up to each parent to read through this material in advance to ensure the principles are consistent with the values and beliefs you wish to advocate.
Helpful tips for using these materials:
1. Don't wait until a crisis arises! Although many of these articles are meant to help in crisis resolution, they best serve your teen by being regularly administered so that they become semi-prepared to handle such situations when they arise.
2. You can either hand these to your teen directly or merely set them on the bed or in conspicuous places throughout the house. They are more likely to read them than you might think. If your teen is of the opinion that anything you would promote is tainted by the very fact that you suggest it, this more indirect approach can work well.
3. You might also consider buying a 3-ring binder and filling it with sheet protectors in order to keep an archive of our advice handouts handy around the house, much like we promote parents do with our printable books. If they're handy and convenient, in a place discreetly accessible by your teen, they are more likely to reference them in a time of need.
If you are a parent of a teen or a teen yourself looking for help on a particular issue, drop us an email and let us know about it. Though we may not have an answer, your input can help us develop new materials to better help other teens dealing with similar situations in the future.
