There is nothing in life that parents hold more dear to their hearts than the safety and well-being of their child. Children are our most cherished treasure, and we would give our own lives to protect them. But despite our best efforts, every year around 10,000 children die in the United States alone from preventable childhood accidents. Imagine 30 average size elementary schools, all brimming with children, and they suddenly vanish. One by one, year by year, that’s how many young lives are snatched away. This does not even include the children who are molested or suffer an accidental serious childhood injury, whose numbers reach into the millions.
The problem is that even the most loving parents leave critical gaps in their child’s safety education. It can be a complicated subject, and there are dangers out there most parents aren’t even aware of. We all teach our kids to beware of strangers. But did you know that the number of children who die by other preventable causes outnumber abducted murdered children 150 to 1?
Child Safety Children’s Books When it comes to being able to do the right thing in the face of an emergency, children are more competent than most give them credit for. Children as young as three or four have been able to escape house fires, and even rescue younger siblings, as a result of safety training. With proper training they can foil abduction attempts, molestations, or recognize dangerous situations so that they can possibly avoid them. If armed with information, they have been shown capable of protecting themselves with remarkable success. All it takes is for someone to show them how.
We offer you free children’s books to teach your kids these important safety concepts. The books are fun for the kids to read and they are easy for the parents. No more guessing as to what are the right things to say or how to say them. So just pick a book and get started. (See above link) By teaching safety through a series of books, children understand the information better, retain it longer, and are much more capable of successfully following through with the proper response in an emergency.
Parent Materials As effective as our children’s books are, there are many steps parents can take to minimize danger to their kids. We try our best to take the guesswork out of safety, with materials that are easy to understand and provide step by step instructions to parents. (See above links)
